Porcelain dental crowns are one of the basic tools used in restorative
dentistry. A crown is a hollow porcelain tooth that covers a
natural tooth. As well as being used for root canals and dental
bridges, crowns are also used to provide additional strength
for teeth that are badly cracked or chipped, to protect a temperature
sensitive tooth, or even to close gaps between teeth. At your
appointment to Diamond Bar Surgery Center, Dr. Adams will simply slip
the customized crown over the distressed tooth and bond it into
place. The tooth is sealed and protected, and has the strength needed
for chewing and biting.
